There is no reason why you could not use an older version of uTorrent. Newer versions are full of ads, and also the latest version silently installs a Bitcoin miner on your PC, which leads to heavy CPU usage.

The version 2.2.1 is the last version without ads and has no issues even under the latest Windows versions (it works on Windows 10)!

When you install 2.2.1 version, you will get a warning that a new stable version is available and that you should update. Make sure you don’t do that!
